Social Security is an earned benefit. Social Security is not a socialism benefit. Proposals to remove the wage cap from FICA taxes are not based in reality (Monday letter to the editor). You would need to limit the Social Security check before you raise the cap. Otherwise, you will be paying billionaires millions of dollars per month at retirement.
The only way to fix Social Security is for the teachers to pay FICA taxes. The unions don’t even allow the press to print that idea.
