A 73-year-old woman is in critical condition after a driver later arrested on DUI-related charges hit her with his pickup truck near the Strip Saturday, according to police.

The Metropolitan Police Department said in a release that the woman was crossing East Sahara Avenue “outside of a marked or implied crosswalk” just before 9:45 p.m. on the Fourth of July.

Robert Gonzalez-Flores, 33, was driving a 2025 GMC Sierra pickup truck and struck the woman, projecting her onto the roadway, the release said. The woman was transported to Sunrise Hospital, where she remains with life-threatening injuries.

Metro said Gonzalez-Flores pulled over immediately, remained at the collision scene and showed signs of impairment. He was arrested and booked into Clark County Detention Center for DUI-related charges.

The collision remains under investigation.

This is a developing story. Check back later for more.
