A man died in a fatal crash on the outskirts of the northwest valley late Saturday night, police said.
At 11:57 p.m., the man, who was undentified by the Metropolitan Police Department, was driving a 2020 Ford Fusion and traveling northbound on Oso Blanca Road south of Kyle Canyon Road at a high rate of speed, according to Metro release.
“The Ford failed to negotiate the curve in the roadway and left the roadway to the right,” the release said. “It struck a raised dirt berm and overturned, coming to rest on its driver’s side. The collision ignited the car, which was eventually put out.”
Arriving medical personnel determined he was beyond resuscitation and ceased life-saving efforts.
The fatal crash is the 58th traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction and remains under investigation.
