
A man on Tuesday pleaded guilty to stabbing another passenger on a January 2024 flight from Seattle to Las Vegas, according to the the United States Department of Justice.
On a January 24, 2024 flight to Harry Reid International Airport, Julio Alvarez Lopez hit, punched and stabbed another passenger with a homemade weapon that consisted of three pens bound together with hair bands, according to prosecutors. The victim, prosecutors said, suffered injuries to the body and eye area that required stitches.
Lopez, who pleaded guilty to one count of assault with a dangerous weapon Tuesday, is scheduled to sentenced on Sept. 22, 2026.
