Aces host Sky, look to bounce back from Commissioner’s Cup loss

Bottom Line:

The Las Vegas Aces host the Chicago Sky at T-Mobile Arena following a season-high 31 points for Jackie Young in their Commissioner’s Cup Championship defeat to the New York Liberty.

The Aces are 5-3 at home this season. Las Vegas is tied for the league lead in shooting percentage (48.8%), led by NaLyssa Smith, who is shooting a league-leading 66.1% from the field.

Both teams lead the league in blocked shots per game, the Sky averaging 5.5 and the Aces averaging 5.4. Las Vegas collects 1.9 more rebounds per game than Chicago.

The Aces defeated the Sky on the road 107-99 on the road Sunday in their only meeting of the season so far.

Top Performers:

The Sky’s Kamilia Cardoso is averaging 14.5 points per game and 8.6 rebounds per game. Skylar Diggins leads Chicago in average assists per game with 4.9 and has had at least five in her last three games.

A’ja Wilson is leading the WNBA in scoring with 25.7 points per game and tied for first in average blocks per game with two. Young is averaging 16.5 points per game and 6.8 assists for the Aces, including three straight games with over 20 points.

Past 10 games:

Aces: 8-2, averaging 91.6 points, 32.8 rebounds, 23 assists, 7.7 steals and 3.4 blocks while shooting 48.9% from the field and 36.2% from 3-point range. Their opponents have averaged 87.1 points per game.
