A man was fatally shot outside a residence near downtown Saturday, police said.
The Metropolitan Police Department received a ShotSpotter notification at 12:45 a.m. in the area of North 15th Street and Mesquite Avenue, the department said in a release.
Responding officers found an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound on the sidewalk in front of a residence in the 300 block of North 15th Street, according to Metro.
Despite lifesaving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the man was not made immediately available.
