Las Vegas is the best place in the world for bachelor and bachelorette parties, a new study says.
The combination of a multitude of luxury nightclubs, casinos and late-night entertainment venues with the ease of getting to them quickly from the airport and reasonably priced hotels vaulted Las Vegas to the top of a list compiled by Hoppa, a global travel technology company.
Formerly known as Resorthoppa, the United Kingdom-based travel technology and ground transportation marketplace allows travelers to pre-book and compare airport transfers, private taxis, ride-hailing services and shuttles across more than 180 countries.
“Las Vegas ranks first thanks to its exceptional nightlife options and high search demand, with nearly 71 venues per 100,000 people and 479,000 searches, the second-highest in the study for both metrics,” the report says. “Combined with relatively accessible hotel prices and short Las Vegas airport transportation times. It delivers the most complete party experience across all factors.”
The Hoppa study, first published last month, says Las Vegas ranks ahead of Nashville, Tennessee; Orlando, Florida; New Orleans; Miami; Scottsdale, Arizona; Cancun and Cozumel in Mexico; Tampa, Florida; and Chicago on its top 10 list.
High for nightlife venues
Las Vegas excels by having 70.8 nightlife venues per 100,000 population, second only to New Orleans’ 79.1. It also ranked second among cities for Google searches for bars, parties and nightlife with 479,000, just behind Nashville’s 488,620, but well ahead of No. 3 Miami’s 276,700.
Within the top 10, Las Vegas had the least expensive hotel rooms in the month of June, averaging $156.87 a night, the study says. The next lowest room rate was found in Cozumel, Mexico, at $164.99 a night.
One metric that nearly every other party venue was lesser than in Las Vegas was in beer pricing. While the study found beer costs average $7 — tied for the second highest within the top 10 with Tampa and Chicago, the lowest average beer cost was in Cozumel at $1.74. The price of beer was only higher in the top 10 at $8 in Miami.
Las Vegas also scored well in airport transfer time, with the fourth-best commute time between airport and party venues at an estimated 13 minutes. Only Cozumel (four minutes), Nashville and Tampa (each 11 minutes) were easier than Las Vegas.
Of Nashville, the Hoppa study said, “Nashville is a vibrant nightlife destination built around live music, with its famous Broadway strip packed with bars, honky tonks and performance venues. Visitors are drawn to its social atmosphere, where live bands, dance floors, and open-door venues create a lively environment throughout the evening.
“It ranks highly due to the strongest search demand in the study, nearly 490,000 people searched for its nightlife on Google, which is over three times the average and the highest in the study. It also has one of the fastest airport transfer times; you can be in the city in 11 minutes, 18 minutes faster than the average party destination.”
New Orleans, Orlando third
The study gave high marks to New Orleans and Orlando for different reasons.
“New Orleans is famous for its lively nightlife, historic streets and a constant soundtrack of live jazz, particularly around the iconic Bourbon Street,” the study said. “Tourists are drawn to its unique mix of culture and celebration, with bars, music venues and street performances. The city ranks in the top three, mostly thanks to the most nightlife spots per capita in the study, with over 79 venues per 100,000 people.
“Meanwhile, Orlando offers a growing nightlife scene that complements its global reputation for entertainment, with a wide range of bars, clubs and late-night venues. Visitors often combine theme park visits with evenings out, creating a balanced trip that blends daytime attractions with nightlife. It performs well due to a solid number of nightlife venues and consistent search interest, both above the average.”
