John Tortorella is not showing his hand.
The Vegas Golden Knights coach did not reveal his lineup ahead of Sunday’s Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Either Reilly Smith or Brandon Saad will go into the lineup in place of the injured William Karlsson (arm).
Smith skated for 15 minutes then came off the ice. Saad hopped on the ice after him.
“I’m not discussing the lineup,” Tortorella said.
The Knights are facing elimination for the first time this postseason. They will have to try and force a Game 7 back in Raleigh on Wednesday without one of their best two-way players.
Karlsson suffered an arm injury during the second period of Game 5 and was taken to a local medical facility soon after.
Saad has played five games this postseason but hasn’t played since Game 2 of the Western Conference Final on May 22.
Smith played the whole first round against Utah and registered two assists. The Original Misfit hasn’t played since the clinching Game 6 on May 1.
“He’s a good player. He’s been around for a long time,” defenseman Brayden McNabb said. “He’s been a great teammate throughout this whole run.”
