Police issued an AMBER Alert early Monday morning for a 5-year-old girl they say was abducted in Carson City.
According to the Carson City Sheriff’s office, Amaya Meithof, 5, was abducted by Christopher Meithof. Authorities did not specify the relationship between the two.
The child was reportedly taken at approximately 4:36 a.m. Monday from the area of 2021 Lone Mountain Drive, #15, in Carson City, police said in the alert.
Authorities noted that the suspect is driving a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Oregon license plate 576 QNU.
The last known direction of travel was southbound toward Quartz Hill, California, which is believed to be the possible destination.
