Victor Joecks’ Sunday column is another example of a man explaining to a woman what her “good life” should look like. He even credits the Bible in defending his opinion. An alternative thought would be to trust and support a women to decide for herself what she wants her future to be, based on her life situation and beliefs.
Mr. Joecks seems not to understand the agonizing economic, financial and emotional considerations many women face when balancing their joint roles of mother and co-financial provider for her family. Many women have to work outside the home to help support their families.
Mr. Joecks’ financial situation may be comfortable enough for his family to live free of financial stress but not all women or families enjoy the same good fortune.
