
It’s pretty simple. The Colorado River desperately needs more water in its system. It’s not coming from divine intervention, Mother Nature or conservation. Forty million people, countless businesses and livelihoods depend on it.
The Columbia River drops 123 million gallons of water per minute into the Pacific Ocean. A 350-mile pipeline has been proposed to move water to the Colorado, according to a Google search.
The Grand Canal of China is a 1,115-mile aqueduct system. The design, engineering and know-how to transport water is obviously something China is very capable of doing.
Why our elected representatives from the states directly and indirectly affected aren’t calling attention to this impending disaster daily is beyond me. It’s been our most ignored national emergency for years.
It isn’t that far-fetched an idea to ask for their help for such a crucial project.
