
A North Las Vegas man died in an ATV wreck that occurred this month, the Metropolitan Police Department announced Tuesday.
Michael Montague, 47, was driving a 2018 Can-Am Maverick X3 with a passenger southbound on Clark Petersen Boulevard near Apex, an industrial park that is a popular off-roading area, around 8:30 p.m. on March 5. The ATV went off the roadway at a curve and struck a cement barrier, ejecting Montague from the vehicle, according to police.
Montague and the passenger were transported to a nearby trauma center, where he succumbed to his injuries despite life-saving measures. The passenger was treated for minor injuries and released.
Under state and federal ruling, the crash as classified as a traffic-related fatality, the 30th this year under Metro’s jurisdiction.
