An attorney for former NBA basketball star Lamar Odom made a not guilty plea on his client’s behalf Tuesday in a DUI case.
Odom, 46, was arrested on DUI and speeding charges in January by the Nevada Highway Patrol. Police said he drove more than 110 mph on Interstate 15 south of Russell Road and failed multiple sobriety tests while smelling of marijuana.
He did not appear at the hearing.
Defense attorney Kevin Coburn declined to comment on the allegations after court, saying the case was in its preliminary stages and the defense had only just received discovery.
Odom entered rehab following his arrest, according to prior news reports. Coburn said Odom has successfully completed rehab.
He played 14 NBA seasons for the Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks and was a UNLV basketball recruit in 1997.
Odom had a previous DUI arrest in 2013, the year his relationship ended with reality star Khloe Kardashian. He also nearly died from a drug overdose at a Nye County brothel in 2015.
His bench trial is scheduled for July 7.
