The Henderson Police Department was mourning one of its own after a detective died Tuesday following medical complications, the department announced.
Det. Brandonn Trotter had been with Henderson police since 2007, the city said in a news release. He worked for the department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
“Throughout his career, he served the community with professionalism, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to public safety,” the statement said.
Henderson Police Chief Reggie Rader lauded Trotter’s dedication and passion.
“Det. Trotter protected the most vulnerable among us and because of his relentless work, saved countless young lives and spared unimaginable heartbreak,” Rader said in a statement. “Det. Trotter’s legacy will live on in every child who grew up safe because he refused to stop fighting for them.”
The Henderson police statement didn’t elaborate on the medical complications that preceded Trotter’s death.
