The Las Vegas Raiders opened free agency by keeping one of their top players in the building.
Cornerback Eric Stokes was one of the team’s most pleasant surprises last season as he stayed healthy and played at a high level despite the Raiders’ overall struggles.
Grade: A
General manager John Spytek said during the NFL combine the organization was prioritizing keeping Stokes around after getting a close look at him last season.
The Raiders were able to do it for a reasonable figure, giving Stokes $30 million over the next three seasons.
It’s a solid deal for both sides and a sign Stokes believes in what the Raiders are building after going through a difficult 3-14 season.
