The Strip’s longest-running LGBTQ+ pool party will go on hiatus this summer as construction continues at its host casino’s pool complex.
Temptation Sundays at Luxor hotel-casino will not take place in 2026 because of the ongoing pool renovation project, according to parent company MGM Resorts International. A company spokesperson said the weekly event will return in 2027.
The remodel of the resort’s pool complex began in December, when Clark County issued a demolition permit. A commercial grading permit application was submitted the following month.
MGM Resorts said it is replacing the south pool at Luxor with a new one that will provide additional deck space.
The project is expected to conclude in July, although the timeline remains subject to change, the company said.
During the construction, Luxor hotel guests will have access to swimming facilities. MGM Resorts said at least one of Luxor’s four pools will remain open during the project. Guests will also be permitted to use pools at nearby MGM Resorts-operated casinos, including Mandalay Bay, Excalibur and MGM Grand.
Temptation Sundays celebrated its 15th anniversary on the Strip in 2025, making it the longest-running LGBTQ+ pool party along the resort corridor.
