The Las Vegas Raiders found a trading partner for disgruntled defensive star Maxx Crosby, shipping him to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a pair of first-round picks late Friday.
That includes the No. 14 overall selection in April’s draft to go along with the No. 1 overall pick the Raiders already had for finishing at the bottom of the league standings.
Grade: A
Crosby’s discontent was real and repairs were going to have to be done on the relationship should the Raiders have decided to keep him.
If the Raiders were going to have to move a player who has endured multiple offseason injuries and will be 29 when the season starts, two first-round picks is an outstanding haul.
Even though the 2027 selection will likely be much later in the first round because the Ravens will be much better this year, this is a good deal for the Raiders.
The draft picks, should the Raiders use them wisely, should be coming into their own just as the rebuild reaches a point where the Raiders are ready to compete.
