The NHL trade deadline is Friday at noon, and there is expected to be plenty of activity.
The Golden Knights have already made two deals and could be involved in more as the morning goes along.

Big name off the board?
NHL insider Elliotte Friedman provided an early nugget that the New York Rangers “have indicated they are prepared to keep Vincent Trocheck if they don’t get what they feel they need. Told teams, they are not trading him just for the sake of making a trade.”
Trocheck, a gold medalist with the U.S. Olympic team in February, was one of the bigger names rumored to be available. He has 12 goals and 39 points in 46 games for the Rangers and is one of the best in the league at faceoffs.
Ducks make move on blue line
While many fans on the East Coast were sleeping, Capitals defenseman John Carlson was traded to the Anaheim Ducks late Thursday in what might be the most surprising move so far of deadline week.
Washington received a conditional first-round pick in 2026 or 2027 along with a 2027 third-round pick for the 36-year-old, whose entire career was spent with the Capitals.
Washington (31-25-7) is four points behind Boston for the final Eastern Conference wild-card spot.

Knights add center depth with Dowd
The Knights acquired 35-year-old center Nic Dowd from the Washington Capitals on Thursday in exchange for goaltending prospect Jesper Vikman, a 2027 third-round pick and a 2029 second-round pick.
Dowd has 16 points in 55 games this season averaging 15:33 in ice time. He was one of the Capitals’ most extensive penalty killers, leading all forwards in short-handed ice time (2:40) and 10th in the league.
A former seventh-round pick from the Los Angeles Kings in 2009, Dowd has 192 points in 637 career games. He was with the Capitals since the 2018-19 season.
Knights get busy, land forward from Nashville
The Knights made their first trade of deadline week Tuesday, deadling for Nashville Predators winger Cole Smith.
The Knights sent their third-round pick in 2028 and defenseman prospect Christoffer Sedoff to Nashville.
Smith played in Wednesday’s game at Detroit and has 10 points in 43 games this season.
