National Flood Insurance, LLC is streamlining the flood insurance process for agencies and mortgage brokers with two new platforms.

Flood Quotes and the Flood Insurance Portal allow users to compare multiple quotes from carriers, purchase policies directly and manage quotes, policies and client details through a dashboard.

“We developed Flood Quotes to simplify, expedite, and streamline quoting and underwriting for flood insurance,” said Mandi Ohse, marketing and business development manager for National Flood Insurance, in a press release Monday. “By offering real-time pricing and expanded carrier access, we enable brokers and agencies to provide the best coverage solutions for their clients, quickly and efficiently.”

Along with providing real-time quotes, the platforms expand access to the National Flood Insurance Program carriers and private flood insurance providers for users.

To get a quote, users enter a property address, fill in property details and coverage amounts and then select the best option. Once completed, users can finalize the policy and pay the premium within the platform, the release said. National Flood Insurance reviews all entries within 24 to 48 hours.

“There is no other platform right now that you can go on as a consumer or as a lender and get your own quote,” Ohse told National Mortgage News. “Nowhere else can you get multiple flood quotes from multiple different carriers in one shop.”

In the Flood Insurance Portal, which is geared toward brokers, mortgage lenders can create a profile and choose to only see properties that are in mandatory zones, she said.

National Flood Insurance had a similar version of these platforms up a few years ago, but did not yet have the technology to provide an accurate quote instead of an estimate. The company spent more than a year and a half developing the platforms before their launch, Ohse said.

National Flood Insurance will continue to add carriers to the platform, and also plans on developing it into an app in the future, Ohse said.
