Nothing is going to stand in A’ja Wilson way of leading the Las Vegas Aces into the WNBA playoffs. Not even an arena worker.
As the Aces were leaving the locker room area to run onto the court for Thursday’s season finale at the Phoenix Mercury, Wilson crashed into a woman who appeared to be a Mortgage Matchup Center staffer.
Video of the incident went viral, as the woman was sent crashing to the ground from the accidental collision. Wilson and her teammates immediately asked if she was OK, and the woman made it back to her feet quickly and resumed her duties.
Many social media accounts used the “block or charge?” meme to joke about the incident once it was clear no one was injured.
The Aces went on to beat the Mercury 100-82 and clinched the No. 3 seed for the WNBA playoffs, setting up a first-round matchup against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever. Wilson finished the game with 34 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.
