Las Vegas Raiders star Brock Bowers could return Sunday against the Saints in New Orleans.
The tight end did not practice on Friday and is listed as questionable on the team’s final injury report of the week ahead of Sunday’s game at Caesars Superdome.
If he plays, it would be less than three weeks after undergoing a meniscus trim on his left knee.
Bowers worked out on the field before last week’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers before officially being declared out. He was able to practice in a limited capacity on Wednesday and Thursday and has appeared to be trending in the right direction.
Coach Klint Kubiak said it was part of the recovery plan to rest on Friday.
“I’m optimistic,” Kubiak said of the chances of Bowers playing.
The Raiders will be without rookie safety Treydan Stukes and most likely without reserve quarterback Aidan O’Connell on Sunday.
Stukes is still in concussion protocol and O’Connell has been away from the team for a week due to the death of his father.
He will not travel with the team Friday, but could join them in New Orleans. He’s officially questionable.
“Our prayers are with Aidan and his family, and we miss him,” Kubiak said. “Can’t wait to get him back. He’s a huge part of our team, and we love him.”
Defensive end Kwity Paye is questionable with an illness. He was able to practice in a limited capacity on Friday.
