A pedestrian has received life-threatening injuries after a crash in the southwest valley Monday night, police said.
The crash happened at 5:09 p.m. on West Spring Mountain Road at South Cimarron Road, the Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement.
Police said a blue 2021 Chevy Camaro was traveling westbound on West Spring Mountain “through a solid green traffic signal” at South Cimarron. A pedestrian on a non-electric scooter crossed south across West Spring Mountain from the northeast corner to the southeast corner.
A crash occurred as the pedestrian, of unknown age, darted into the travel path of the Chevy Camaro, police said. The pedestrian was taken to the University Medical Center’s Trauma Center, where his injuries were determined to be life-threatening.
The driver of the Chevy Camaro remained at the scene, was cooperative, and showed no signs of impairment, police said.
