SANTA ANA, Calif. — Bishop Gorman’s football team’s five-game losing streak to Mater Dei is over.
The No. 8 Gaels rolled to a 25-8 win over their powerhouse counterpart from Southern California at Santa Ana Stadium, improving Friday to 1-5 all-time against the Monarchs. Gorman junior running back Corey Hinton Jr. had 201 yards on 19 carries with two touchdowns.
Senior safety Darian Abella had a first-quarter interception after Hinton’s first touchdown.
Gaels junior kicker Cason Clark made field goals from 29 and 30 yards and junior quarterback Ace Amina had a third-quarter, 1-yard touchdown run.
