Southern Nevada small businesses are being sought to participate in vendor opportunities for a week of events when Las Vegas hosts the 2027 College Football National Championship at Allegiant Stadium.

Interested small businesses are asked to register through the CFP’s small business portal to be considered for the various opportunities that will be available surrounding the week of the national championship game, scheduled for Jan. 25.

“The small business program for the College Football Playoff National Championship game will allow businesses in the community to be a part of not just the game, but all of the ancillary activities that take place during the week,” Brian Yost, executive director of the 2027 CFP Las Vegas Host Committee, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “We, to date, have over 140 businesses signed up in the portal, ranging across a variety of goods and services.”

The goal of the program is to generate at least $3 million in local business economic development, Yost said.

“We think it’s absolutely a great way to integrate the community,” Yost said.

The host committee is holding a kickoff breakfast and championship briefing at 7:45 a.m. on Sept. 17, at the Las Vegas Convention Center North Hall. The event is open to those who have already signed up for the program online and to those who have yet to register and want more details.

Small business representatives interested in attending the breakfast must register online on the host committee’s website.

Volunteers needed

The CFP host committee is also looking to fill volunteer roles.

CFP week in Las Vegas will need about 800 volunteers to participate in a number of roles. The CFP has filled about half of the needed spots so far, Yost said.

“College Football Playoff National Championship Week has a myriad of activities,” Yost said. “Those activities require ambassadors, and those ambassadors are volunteers here.”

Yost said volunteers come from the community at large as well as from schools, especially UNLV and other colleges in Southern Nevada.

”Those volunteers will do things like greet the teams when they arrive at the airport, greet people as they’re coming to town and coming through Harry Reid International. They will work at the events giving people direction and help them understand what’s taking place,” Yost said. “It’s a great opportunity to be a part of the activity, a part of the fun, and spend a great day doing what we do best, which is showing hospitality in Las Vegas.”

Those interested in signing up to volunteer can do so on the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority’s event volunteer website.
