After reading the front page of the Review-Journal Thursday (“Labor Day tourism to be robust, experts say”), it certainly appears that Las Vegas hotels and establishments haven’t learned a thing or just plain don’t care about maintaining or increasing tourism. The room rates shown were greedily high and obviously such just to gouge those visiting the area over the long weekend.
Short-term profits clearly remain the only objective of the current accommodation offerings of the strip hotels and resorts. As usual, there is a lot of talk but little demonstrated change from the establishments that form the Las Vegas visitor’s opinions of Vegas being a good-value vacation destination.
Apparently the LVCVA and its partners have learned nothing.
