Police say a man used a bag of bananas to aid his escape with hundreds of dollars of merchandise from an east Las Vegas Valley business.
The robbery occurred just after 2:30 p.m. July 12 from the business near the 7000 block of East Lake Mead Boulevard, near North Hollywood Boulevard, according to a Metropolitan Police Department release.
The man filled a personal shopping cart with the items and attempted to leave without paying when he was confronted by a loss prevention security guard. The man swung the bag of bananas and struck the guard violently in the face before leaving the store.
The man left in a black Jeep, possibly a Renegade, police said.
He is between his 40s and 50s with a medium build, last wearing a black baseball-style hat, blue button-up shirt, black shorts, white socks and black sandals, pushing a gray personal shopping cart.
