President Donald Trump’s Las Vegas visits this week will result in traffic impacts in the air and on area roads.

Trump is scheduled to make an appearance at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Red Rock Resort in Summerlin to promote his administration’s tax policies, the White House announced Monday.

A temporary flight restriction for Southern Nevada’s airspace was issued Sunday by the Federal Aviation Administration for VIP movement, which is a standard procedure when the president travels.

The flight restriction runs between 8:15 p.m. Tuesday and 4 p.m. Wednesday. Air Force One will travel from Los Angeles, where Trump is making a campaign stop, to Las Vegas, with the flight restriction in Southern California expiring at 9 p.m. on Tuesday.

The flight restrictions suggest that Trump will land in Las Vegas sometime Tuesday night after 8:15 p.m. and stay overnight into Wednesday, ahead of his event at Red Rock.

In previous overnight visits to Las Vegas, Trump has stayed at his namesake hotel, Trump International, located just off the Strip next to Fashion Show mall.

Tuesday night traffic impacts when Trump lands in Las Vegas could include intermittent road closures of a route leading from Harry Reid International Airport to Trump International.

Area law enforcement does not provide info on presidential motorcade movement due to safety precautions, but based on previous visits, affected roads Tuesday night could include the Airport Connector, 215 Beltway, Interstate 15, Spring Mountain Road, Tropicana Avenue, University Center Drive and Las Vegas Boulevard.

On Wednesday, when Trump travels to Red Rock for his afternoon event, road closures that will occur as his motorcade travels around the valley could include portions of the Strip, Spring Mountain, I-15, Interstate 11, Summerlin Parkway, the 215 and Charleston Boulevard.

The flight restriction over Las Vegas Valley airspace expires at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, suggesting that Trump’s motorcade will head straight to Reid Airport after the Red Rock event.

As Trump’s motorcade travels to the airport Wednesday afternoon to leave the valley, portions of the 215, Summerlin Parkway, I-11, I-15 and the Airport Connector to could see temporary road closures. The most direct route from Red Rock to the airport would include Charleston westbound, to 215 eastbound to the airport connector northbound.
