A 61-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries after the e-bike he was operating was involved in a crash with a vehicle Sunday night in the central Las Vegas Valley, the third crash involving a pedestrian in a 3½-hour span.

The crash occurred just after 11:15 p.m. at the intersection of East Sahara Avenue and South Burnham Street, just west of South Eastern Avenue, according to a Metropolitan Police Department release. Investigators say the e-bike was eastbound on Sahara and ignored a stop light, entering the path of a 2016 Honda CRV northbound on Burnham.

The Honda driver immediately brought his vehicle to a controlled stop north of the intersection.

The e-bicyclist was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Trauma Center, where he remains with life-threatening injuries.

Two other crashes Sunday night involved pedestrians:

— A 45-year-old Las Vegas man was struck on East Tropicana Avenue west of Koval Lane at 8:08 p.m. Investigators say the pedestrian was walking outside a crosswalk. He was taken to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

— An unidentified pedestrian was struck on South Eastern Avenue south of East Warm Springs Road at 8:11 p.m. The victim was taken to Sunrise.

In all three crashes, the drivers remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.

The crashes remain under investigation by Metro’s Collision Investigation Section.
