UNLV and the College of Southern Nevada will begin offering guaranteed admission to their schools for Clark County School District seniors, starting with next fall’s freshman class, a UNLV official told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The One Admit program, open to seniors as early as Saturday, will allow all district graduates after this school year to be admitted to UNLV and CSN without needing to apply or pay an application fee, according to Barb Roberts, UNLV’s associate vice president for enrollment management.
She said the program marks the first time UNLV has ever offered direct admission to students.
“We’re bringing together UNLV, CSN and working with CCSD to make a really seamless pathway from high school to higher education,” Roberts said.
Through the program, students who have any of the following — a 3.0 GPA (weighted or unweighted), a 22 ACT score, a college and career ready diploma or an advanced diploma — will be admitted to UNLV as full-time students.
“If a student, though, doesn’t meet our initial full admission criteria, they will be enrolled and admitted to UNLV as a non-degree-seeking student,” Roberts said. Those students can enroll full-time at CSN and become full-time UNLV students if they earn at least a 2.5 GPA after completing 24 credits at CSN, equivalent to two full semesters.
More than 17,000 district students this year will have access to an online portal to join One Admit, Roberts said. Students can claim their seats for fall 2027 admission starting Saturday, she added.
“The students who are in the One Admit program are going to have all of the benefits of being a UNLV student, even if they are taking more of their course load at CSN,” Roberts said, adding that transferring between the schools will now be easier due to new data sharing policies.
UNLV joins Nevada State University in creating streamlined pathways for Clark County students to enter college.
“We are really doing everything we can to remove all of the barriers for students and help them feel at home at both institutions,” Roberts said.
