LETTER: More money for the Colorado River?

The Thursday front-page article declaring that 12 Western lawmakers had requested billions for undefined purposes regarding the Colorado River struck me the wrong way (“Letter urges emergency cash”). Obviously none of them has ever worked in the real world.

Having worked as manager of research and development for a large oil company and director of marketing for a Fortune 500 company, I know that if one of my subordinates had come in with a request for such a large level of funding without offering a clue as to how they would spend it, they would have left with their rear between their ears. At least we now know who not to vote for.
