A two-vehicle crash in North Las Vegas Wednesday sent both drivers to the hospital and left hundreds without power.

The North Las Vegas Police Department said in a release that the crash occurred at the intersection of East Craig Road and Berg Street just after 2:15 p.m., and involved a Jaguar and a Chevrolet Equinox.

“As a result of the collision, a power box was struck, causing a power outage in the area and affecting nearby traffic signals,” the release said.

The department said both drivers were taken to a nearby hospital. Their conditions were not available.

According to Nevada Energy’s outage map, 513 total customers were affected in the area. The utility responded to the scene to address the damage electrical equipment, police said.

A previous version of the outage map listed an estimated restoration time of 7 p.m., but has since been updated to 5:45 p.m. Temperatures climbed above 100 degrees Wednesday and will persist as hundreds of households are without power.

The crash remains under investigation.
