Stars of the day
Isaiah Crawford, Houston Rockets
Crawford posted a game-high 19 points in the Rockets’ victory over the 76ers while adding six rebounds, three assists and two blocks.
The 6-foot-6 forward has appeared in 29 NBA games after signing with the Sacramento Kings as an undrafted free agent following the 2024 NBA Draft.
The former Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year at Louisiana Tech is currently on a two-way contract, splitting time between Houston and its G League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, where he averaged nearly 20 points per game during the 2025-26 season.
Egor Demin, Brooklyn Nets
Demin led the Nets with 22 points, including 16 in the first quarter, while adding eight assists, four steals and four rebounds in Brooklyn’s victory over the Kings.
The No. 8 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft has scored at least 20 points in each of his four Summer League games this year after averaging more than 10 points in 52 games with Brooklyn during the 2025-26 season.
Demin played one collegiate season at BYU, averaging 10.6 points and 5.5 assists per game while shooting 41.2% from the field.
Javon Small, Memphis Grizzlies
Small was one of two Grizzlies to score at least 20 points in the victory over Golden State, finishing with a game-high 26 points and five 3-pointers while shooting 58% from the field.
The 6-foot-1 guard was selected in the second round of the 2025 NBA Draft and enjoyed a productive rookie season in Memphis, averaging 9.7 points per game while shooting 42% from 3-point range.
Small spent four collegiate seasons between East Carolina, Oklahoma State and West Virginia before earning first-team All-Big 12 honors after averaging 18.6 points per game during his final season with the Mountaineers.
Faces in the crowd
Perhaps the biggest surprise for many in attendance Tuesday came when the Washington Wizards shut down No. 1 overall pick AJ Dybantsa before their Summer League matchup against No. 4 overall pick Caleb Wilson and the Chicago Bulls.
The Wizards also announced that guards Will Riley and Tre Johnson would not play again during Summer League. The three first-round picks, all expected to play key roles in Washington’s future, watched Tuesday’s game from the sideline.
Sacramento Kings guard Zach LaVine sat courtside to watch his team take on the Brooklyn Nets, sporting Las Vegas Raiders gear that included a Bo Jackson jersey.
LaVine was traded to the Kings during the 2024-25 season from the Chicago Bulls as part of a three-team deal that also sent guard De’Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs. He will begin his second full season in Sacramento after missing nearly half of the 2025-26 campaign while recovering from surgery to repair a tendon in his hand.
Houston Rockets general manager Rafael Stone and coach Ime Udoka watched their franchise’s third Summer League game as Houston defeated the Philadelphia 76ers, one of four undefeated teams entering Tuesday’s action.
Udoka will look to lead the Rockets to the playoffs for a third consecutive season. Houston has not posted a losing record since he took over as the bench boss in April 2023.
