Your Wednesday editorial critiquing Sen. Chris Murphy’s “Living Wage For All Act” was spot on. His oratory ran the gamut from grandstanding to demagoguery.
If Sen. Murphy was that enamoured with boosting the wage floor from $7.25 an hour to $25, why didn’t he start with his own state of Connecticut, like what was done in California? Could it be that California’s experiment is failing? If that is the case, then why would things improve nationally?
For a party that wants to take over the Senate in the midterms, boosting the wage floor this drastically under the guise of “common good capitalism” has all the appearance of a “losing proposition” for our country and all those supporting it.
