The Grapevine Fire is estimated at 26,464 acres and 41 percent contained Tuesday, the Bureau of Land Management reports.
Crews have established a completed fireline along the western and northeast portions of the fire — located in Lincoln County’s Caliente area — and continue to strengthen containment features across the incident, the agency said.
Caliente is about 140 miles north of Las Vegas.

Diminished wind and aggressive suppression tactics have significantly reduced fire activity and visible smoke. Interior flare-ups are possible where fuel is available.
Resources are progressing with mop-up operations and working to secure pockets of isolated heat along the fire perimeter. Hand crews continue to actively engage in securing the southeast portion of the fire using direct suppression tactics where conditions allow.
Residents and visitors are reminded to avoid the fire area and remain alert for firefighting personnel and equipment operating on area roads.
Beaver Dam State Park remains closed, as well as the Eagle Valley Reservoir.
