
Your recent story on the “Protect Girls’ Sports” ballot initiative notes that it will not be on the ballot this fall because its opponents went to court to stop it. As a result, there is not enough time to get the 149,000 valid signatures needed. Gov. Joe Lombardo said he will bring this up at the next legislative session in 2027. We, the citizens of Nevada, should vigorously support him. But where is the Nevada State Board of Education on this issue? Where is the urgency from its members to create policy to protect girls’ sports? It’s time the state board broke away from the failed educational establishment, unions and special interests to create a policy to protect those we cherish and love: the children of this state.
