Frontier Airlines is adding 15 new flights a week this summer to two different destinations from Las Vegas as the Denver-based commercial air carrier fills in some of the schedule lost when Spirit Airlines quit operating last month.
Frontier plans 11 round trips a week between Las Vegas and Oakland San Francisco Airport beginning Aug. 20 and four a week between Harry Reid International Airport and Boise Airport in Idaho beginning Sept. 10.
The airline plans to introduce the new routes with $49 one-way ticket prices on some flights if purchased by 8:59 p.m., Tuesday. Blackout dates exist on those flights on Sept. 4 and 7 and tickets must be purchased at least 21 days in advance.
“We are delighted to announce this new service at LAS, offering high-value travel to even more tourists visiting Vegas as well as locals traveling to Idaho and Northern California,” Josh Flyr, vice president of network and operations design for Frontier Airlines, said in a release.
“We are laser-focused on redefining what consumers can expect from low-fare travel — from our expansive network map to the premium upgrades we offer,” he said. “We look forward to continuing to ensure affordable flights are available to and from Las Vegas.”
Another carrier also is bidding for more passengers by introducing $35 one-way fares on some routes in observance of its fourth anniversary serving Las Vegas.
Cottonwood Heights, Utah-based Breeze Airways serves 17 nonstop destinations from Las Vegas, including Orange County, California; Fort Myers, Florida; and New Orleans.
Breeze was named one of Fast Company’s “World’s Most Innovative Companies of 2025” for its affordable flying. It also was named the “Best Major Airline in North America” by the Airline Passenger Experience Association, as well as a top four Best Domestic Airline by Travel + Leisure every year since it began flying.
The airline flies Airbus A220-300 twin-engine jet aircraft and offers premium products like free family seating, fast onboard Wi-Fi, preferred seat options,and no change or cancel fees.
Breeze operates more than 300 year-round and seasonal routes to 88 cities in the United States, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. Founded by aviation entrepreneur David Neeleman, Breeze took flight in May 2021 bringing premium, affordable, and nonstop air service to secondary markets on its flagship fleet of Airbus jets.
