A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with another vehicle in the south valley early Saturday morning, police said.
Just before 3:30 a.m., a 2010 Nissan Pathfinder was crossing Placid Street and East Warm Springs Road “from a posted stop sign,” the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said in a release.
A 2025 Kawasaki Ninja was traveling westbound on Warm Springs Road “with no traffic control devices requiring a stop,” the release said. As the Pathfinder crossed the intersection, it entered the path of the motorcycle, which collided with the passenger side of the Pathfinder and ejected the motorcylist from the bike.
The motorcyclist, 23, was transported to UMC Trauma. Despite all life-saving measures, he succumbed to injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead by medical personnel, Metro said.
The driver of the Pathfinder, Pablo Ruiz, 33, suffered minor injuries. Metro said Ruiz remained at the scene, cooperated with police and showed no signs of impairment.
The 51st traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year, the crash remains under investigation.
