
Police are investigating a hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian in the northwest valley Friday.
The Metropolitan Police Department received a call just after 2:30 p.m. from a witness who discovered a body on the roadside of North Oso Blanca Road and West Montecito Pointe Drive near Centennial Hills Hospital. Emergency medical personnel arrived to the scene and determined the person was beyond medical resuscitation, police said.
After a preliminary investigation, Metro determined a Ram pickup was traveling southbound on Oso Blanca Road when it struck a pedestrian who was riding a skateboard.
The pedestrian, identified as a 28-year-old man, succumbed to his injuries from the collision, police said.
The driver nor vehicle remained at the scene. Metro said it has located the pickup but has not identified the driver yet.
