In response to your Saturday story on the Nevada Supreme Court putting on hold the state’s law mandating parental notice for minors seeking an abortion:
In what direction is our high court taking Nevada? It seems they have come right out and told us it’s high time to rid ourselves of the term “minor,” a 1600’s English common law term. So let’s follow the court’s logic into Nevada’s future.
From birth, everyone will have the same equal rights to drive, drink, enter into contracts, vote and work. All will have full legal capacity and be able to act independently about their medical care, getting married, or suing in court without an adult representative.
In my opinion, this decision reveals that special interests control our high court.
