Joan Wenger, a minimum-security inmate who escaped from Jean Conservation Camp in 2024, is in custody, the Nevada Department of Corrections said Monday.
Wenger escaped from the camp in September 2024. She was arrested by Port of Seattle Police in Seattle on May 31, the NDOC said in a statement.
She was admitted to the NDOC on Dec. 1, 2021, from Douglas County. She was serving a sentence of 120 months for vehicular homicide.
The camp, located in Jean about 20 miles south of Las Vegas, is closing July 1. Jean is the only conservation camp for female offenders in Nevada.
