A recent letter writer suggested using the vacant properties at Primm to house the homeless and vets. While this is a laudable idea, regarding the vacant buildings, I would expect Affinity Gaming, which owns the properties, to receive some income if this were done. Might I suggest that Scott Butera, CEO of Affinity, contact the Trump administration?
In Primm, there are hotels with many rooms, and the infrastructure, including plenty of water, is already in place. The administration has paid many millions for vacant warehouses to hold immigration detainees. How much would they pay for Primm? They could put four to five detainees per room, clear out the casino floors, and put in partitions and house even more people.
I’m willing to bet that Affinity could easily get $600 million to $750 million. Good luck.
