I have to laugh a bit when the topic of removing the federal gasoline tax of 18 cents is brought up by politicians on either the left or the right. With gas prices across the country hovering around $4.50 per gallon, taking $0.18 cents off that price would be like taking a suitcase off the Queen Mary. The juice isn’t worth the squeeze.
Unfortunately paying higher gas prices is the price we all need to pay temporarily while we remove the world’s greatest threat, which is Iran having access to nuclear weapons. We, as Americans, need to suck it up and hold firm. None of us likes it, but it is what it is. This too shall one day pass. But I hope after it has, we will all be the better for it.
