A man was shot in the head during a fight early Friday morning in the southeast Las Vegas Valley, according to police.

The Metropolitan Police Department said in a text message that dispatch received a report of a shooting around 1:14 a.m. in the 4800 block of Boulder Highway.

An additional report indicated that a man had been shot in the head and was “bleeding profusely.”

Arriving officers located the victim, who was transported to a local hospital in stable condition, police said.

According to police, a woman who identified herself as the victim’s family member told officers that an altercation occurred at a nearby business.

During the fight, according to police, the suspect shot the victim once in the head before fleeing the area.
