Ikea is celebrating its 10-year anniversary in Las Vegas over the weekend with special offers and giveaways.
The Swedish home-goods retailer is celebrating a decade in Las Vegas on Saturday and Sunday. During the celebration, shoppers can receive special offers and giveaways, as well as listen to live music performances.
Each day, the first 100 Ikea shoppers will have the chance to win a gift card worth up to $500, a “Customer Pick a Present” activity from 11 a.m. to noon and free children’s craft from 1 to 2 p.m.
On Saturday, there will be a Mariachi band from noon to 1 p.m., and Hula dancers on Sunday from 12:30 to 1 p.m. and again at 1:30 to 2 p.m.
The store will open at 10 a.m., with festivities running until 3 p.m. each day.
Ikea opened its 351,000-square-foot store off Sunset and Durango roads and the 215 Beltway on May 18, 2016. Prior to opening, its buildout took 13 months, 500 construction workers, 300 full-time employees and a stock-up of 10,000 items.
The Swedish retailer opened a new store concept in Henderson in October, as well, located in the Whitney Ranch Shopping Center. The new location differs from the typical superstore model and is a “plan and order point with pickup” dedicated to kitchen, bedroom and living room planning, where customers can order with the Ikea store team and pick up qualifying items at the location.
