A man accused of killing his wife in Las Vegas during a domestic dispute is expected to face a judge Wednesday morning.
Roelmer Sanchez-Garrido, 46, is charged with murder in the Tuesday killing of his wife at a home in the 4300 block of Esmeralda Avenue, near West Sahara Avenue and South Valley View Boulevard.
The victim’s identity had not been released as of Wednesday, but Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Robert Price previously described the victim as the spouse of the suspect in the case.
Price said at about 3 a.m. 911 dispatchers received a call from a man asking for medical assistance for his wife at the home on Esmeralda. The woman was found deceased at the scene.
Price said the woman was planning to leave her husband and take the couple’s children with her when she was killed. Further details on what caused the woman’s death were not immediately released.
“He stated that him and his wife had gotten into an argument earlier that night and something bad had happened,” Price said.
Sanchez-Garrido was scheduled to appear in Las Vegas Justice Court at 9 a.m.
