The Clark County Credit Union is changing its name after 75 years.
The CCCU, which was founded in 1951 with 25 county employees, a wooden table and a cash box, launched its new brand and logo and is now known as the Create Credit Union, it announced Wednesday.
“The name Create reflects our purpose: helping you create the financial life you want,” the new createcu.org website states about the rebrand. “Let’s create what’s next.”
Create Credit Union now serves more than 60,000 members, manages $1.6 billion in assets and operates six branches in Southern Nevada, with two more branches planned for Pahrump and east Las Vegas.
Create CU will host a member event to celebrate its new name from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 26 at its rebranded Tenaya branch (located at 2625 North Tenaya Way). The event will feature refreshments, prizes and new account incentives, along with appearances by the A’s mascot and the Desert Dogs’ lacrosse players, Vixens dance team and mascot.
