The Metropolitan Police Department’s Search and Rescue Unit responded Wednesday to a report of a grounded tour helicopter outside of Las Vegas.
According to Metro Lt. David Watts, the unit responded after a helicopter operator had concerns about taking off following a planned stop. The helicopter, operated by a private company, was taking passengers to the Grand Canyon and Valley of Fire State Park.
It wasn’t clear as of Wednesday night where the helicopter landed or how many passengers were on board. Watts said the Metro unit helped move the stranded party to another site.
No injuries were reported.
