Mike Ford’s Sunday essay arguing that the BLM is choking Las Vegas ignores the elephant in our homes: water. If he and most of the large developers in the valley had their way, the people of the Las Vegas Valley would be told in the years to come when to take baths and showers, wash our clothes and dishes, empty our pools and flush our toilets.
If one thinks I’m overstating my position, look at our water restrictions phased in over the past 25 years
It’s time we look at restricting growth as the goal, regardless of what is preached by our local governments focused on protecting their tax bases and employees. It’s not the BLM choking Las Vegas residents, It’s water and over development.
