It’s time for the lies by both political parties to stop. The SAVE Act doesn’t disenfranchise any legal voter, nor does it make registering to vote too difficult for anyone. That is elitist, racist and sexist. It’s a common-sense bill that protects our election process. The GOP needs to at least bring it to the floor so voters can identify politicians of both parties who vote against the overwhelming desires of the American people and secure elections.
The most recent polling shows overwhelming support for photo ID requirements among those in both parties.
By now, all eligible voters are aware of the 2005 REAL ID Act. The bill established federal standards for identification documents and — for the purposes of accessing federal government facilities and boarding airline flights in the United States — prohibits federal agencies from accepting driver’s licenses and identification cards issued by U.S. states and territories that do not satisfy certain standards. All states and territories are now supposedly in compliance.
So why do Democrats persist in spewing their lie that obtaining photo ID is too difficult?
