
A motorcyclist died Saturday after he fell off the Desert Inn Road overpass onto Interstate 15, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
The driver, according to a text message from Metro Lt. Sam Bonner, died after he fell over the south guardrail on Desert Inn and onto the northbound lanes on the I-15 just west of the Strip.
The crash happened just after 7 p.m. on Saturday, Bonner said. It was not known as of Saturday night whether impairment was a factor in the crash, police said.

Several northbound lanes on the I-15 were closed in the area of the crash, as well as eastbound Desert Inn from Polaris Avenue to Paradise Road. Another crash on the ramp from West Flamingo Road onto the northbound I-15 closed all lanes. Both crashed were cleared around 8:30 p.m.
The identity of the motorcyclist had not been released as of late Saturday.
